Lover's Beach faces the calm Sea of Cortez and is one of the few swimmable beaches near Cabo San Lucas. Divorce Beach faces the open Pacific with powerful surf and dramatic scenery but is not safe for swimming. Both are reachable only by water taxi from the Cabo marina, making this one of the most memorable beach outings in Los Cabos.

From the sand you can walk a short trail over the rocky divide to Divorce Beach on the Pacific. Many visitors combine the trip with a quick loop past the Arch and the sea lion colony. There are no facilities on the beach itself, so come prepared.

Lover's Beach is sheltered, swimmable, and perfect for floating in turquoise water with the Arch as a backdrop. Divorce Beach is a wild, postcard-perfect stretch of Pacific sand framed by towering rock formations — gorgeous to look at and photograph but deadly to swim in. What to Expect
Water taxis leave the marina every few minutes and the ride out is about 10 minutes. The captain helps you off at Lover's Beach; confirm your pickup time before they leave. You will have anywhere from one to four hours on the beach depending on what you arrange. Snorkeling is decent along the rocks at the east end of Lover's Beach. Vendors sometimes sell snacks and drinks from coolers but this is not guaranteed. Bring everything you need for the day.

Couples wanting a romantic afternoon, photographers chasing the iconic shot, families with confident swimmers, and anyone who has already done a quick Arch tour and wants more time at Land's End. It is not ideal for travelers with serious mobility issues (the boat landing requires stepping into shallow water) or for anyone expecting facilities, shade, or food service.

Go in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat. Bring an umbrella or small pop-up tent if you want shade — there is none. The walk between Lover's and Divorce Beach involves scrambling over rocks; wear water shoes. Never swim at Divorce Beach — the undertow has claimed lives and there are no lifeguards. Snorkeling at Lover's is best near Pelican Rock at the eastern tip. Ask the captain if they will swing past the sea lion colony on the way back.
What to Bring
Plenty of drinking water, snacks, sunscreen (reef-safe if you plan to snorkel), a hat, sunglasses, a towel, swimwear, water shoes for the rocks, a dry bag for phones and valuables, and cash for the water taxi and tips. A small cooler is fine if you want to make a day of it. There is no shade and no services, so pack like you are going to a remote beach — because you are.
